Overview
Active Research was set up three years ago to provide an online research service based on the large numbers of children who use the Jetix websites.
Using the power of web technology, and with its global reach, Active Research is able to produce engaging and insightful kid’s research.
Reach
We now run surveys across the whole of Europe, the Americas and the Asia Pacific region. These surveys are primarily run via the Jetix and Disney websites. We also partner with 4 Kids Entertainment in the US and Lycos across Europe.
Our primary reach is children aged between seven and 14, with teenage and adult access available via Disney and Lycos.
Methodology
Our methodology adopts an ‘opt-in’ style. Users of the sites are offered a questionnaire in a pop-up window and can choose to either complete the survey or close the window.
Jetix users are incentivised with loyalty points which can be exchanged for goods in an online boutique. Disney and adult users are either given access to games or a competition prize.
Survey Style and Content
All surveys are bespoke and based on specific client requests.
Our surveys utilise all the technology of the internet, including streaming video, sound and images. The video function allows for advertisement or pilot programme testing, while images can be used to test either product or packaging designs or creative print material.
Our questions are dynamic. This ensures that respondents are only guided to questions relevant to them, thus improving both the user experience and the completion rates.
Typical weekly respondent rates vary between 500 – 10,000, depending on the market and the size of the survey being run.
Regulations
All our research complies with ESOMAR regulations on kids’ research by ensuring that prior parental permission is obtained. This is achieved by obtaining signed parental approval before any child can become a registered user of the Jetix and Disney websites. Surveys directed to kids are only served to registered users.
Summary
Active Research provides access to a robust online audience by capitalising on the relationship between children and the online world
